“Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?"
Wouldn't Grimm's fairy tales be meaningless without such incantation scenes and their repetition? They would lack structure and rhythm, tension and poetry.
The large and varied range of events on the German Fairy Tale Route also gets its special character from recurring events. Traditional, regularly held stage programmes and festivals, such as the open-air fairytale play in Bremen, Rats in Hameln or the Brothers Grimm Festival Hanau, set the pace to a certain extent and at the same time always provide surprising nuances.

Unfortunately, the Corona pandemic has interrupted the rhythm of these events. We are confident that we will soon be able to announce the first fairytale highlights for the year 2021 here.

Until then and beyond, we invite you to discover little treasures in our calendar of events, in the section on fairytale destinations and, of course, on site.
