Key Figures
===========

Brothers Grimm, Authors and Storytellers

The German Fairy Tale Route is inseparably linked to a host of extraordinary figures. Foremost among them are the **Brothers Grimm**, whose world-famous collection of fairy tales shaped the route. But writers such as **Theodor Storm** and **Wilhelm Busch** also left their mark here, creating works that continue to delight generations of readers to this day.

Equally important are the **fairy-tale collectors and storytellers** – the men and women who passed their stories on to the Brothers Grimm. Without their memories, imagination and gift for storytelling, many of the famous fairy tales might never have been preserved.

Discover the people behind the stories and visit the places along the German Fairy Tale Route where they lived and worked – and where their legacy continues to live on in museums, historic houses and exhibitions.
