"Legendary. 200 Years of German Legends of the Brothers Grimm" is the slogan of the current Grimm Anniversary of the German Fairy Tale Route. The anniversary celebrates the years 1816 and 1818, when the Brothers Grimm published 585 "German Legends” in two volumes for the first time.

The majority of these stories are not nearly as well known and as poetical as, for instance, Rapunzel, but they are in any case gripping, and frequently invite you to approach well-known as well as unknown places from a new perspective. Do you know the Mother Hulda pond and the legends woven about it, or the castle of Hoya with its wonderful legacy of the dwarves?

You are sure to know the Pied Piper of Hameln. Let yourself be enticed by him to fabulous discoveries and celebrations! From the opening weekend on the 25th/26th of June 2016 in Hameln to middle of 2018, the members and partners of the German Fairy Tale Route offer numerous large and small activities, events and travel offerings all concerning the "Legend Jubilee".

Here is a small selection, sorted according to location.
