Fairytale Destinations

It doesn't have to be a seven-year fairytale hero's journey; the German Fairy Tale Route can also be experienced in the context of large and small excursions.
For example, how about visiting the Grimm museums in Hanau, Steinau and Kassel in the course of a winter to learn more about the life and work of the famous brothers? The following year, the fairytale houses and museums from Alsfeld to Neukirchen and Hessian Lichtenau to Bad Oeynhausen could be the destination of enchanting family excursions. In the warmer seasons, it is a good idea to follow well-known and lesser-known stories here and there on theme or lantern paths. Or you can pack Little Red Riding Hood's basket – alternatively a picnic backpack, choose one of the numerous castles, fairytale fountains or monuments as your destination and set off on a fabulous hike. The next excursion could then take you to an adventure park, for example in Steinau or Verden - also as a reward for the children's commitment to hiking along so far.

My legendary place is the chimney oak in the primeval forest nature park Reinhardswald.
