A botanical cabinet of rarities and "Hessen's most beautiful flower island": nothing is left to chance in this dense garden composition, which combines an immense abundance of plants on three levels. Open from 1 April to 31 October.

Colourful panorama in the change of seasons

The season starts on Saturday, 1 April. Opening hours are daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until the end of October.

Surrounded by a lily pond, a good 16-metre-high mountain rises in the Staatspark Karlsaue at the southern edge of the park. In spring, daffodils, tulips, hyacinths and even the first rhododendrons are in full bloom on three levels. With the seasonal play of colours in the leaves, the seasonally changing flower plantings and the view over the surrounding water areas, the island always offers you a unique panorama from spring to autumn.
