Open House on Sunday at the Medieval Village of Steinrode

The Medieval Village of Steinrode, located at Kohlenstraße 101 in Hann. Münden, will open its gates to drop-in visitors for the next time on Sunday, July 12. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., you can simply show up without registering; where you’ll find information about our association’s work (guided tour around 1 p.m.), snacks from the grill, coffee, cake, and games ranging from treasure hunts to ladder golf, from pin toss to Viking tennis, plus workshops. Admission is 4 euros for people 18 and older; children and teens are free. Schedule: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Writing with quill and ink and game rentals in the church; starting at 12 p.m., a hands-on clay-building workshop with the Friends of Münden’s Old Town. 11:30 a.m., Workshop 1: Herb tour, followed by making herbal oils. Please bring a clean screw-top jar (jam jar)! Participation fee: 5 euros. 1:30 p.m., Workshop 2: Making amulets from wood or horn. Participation fee: 5 euros. Our blacksmith will be joining us again and is accepting “apprentices” for a small fee (forging S-hooks). We kindly remind you that consuming food and beverages you’ve brought from home is not permitted on our open Sundays. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a leash.
