"I paint with light and think in moods." With this sentence, Helmut Becker describes the core of his photographic work.
The exhibition
"Light becomes line becomes movement becomes emotion" shows photographs that do not document, but interpret - images that make moods visible.
On display are three different photographic approaches that complement each other:
- Minimalist photographs, characterized by calm, clarity and reduction.
- Impressionistic images, created by deliberate movement of the camera, in which lines and colors condense into flowing structures.
- Abstract photographs that translate emotions into light, color, form and surface.
The exhibition includes both new works and earlier series - linked by the idea that photography is a tool of expression. Not a mere image of the outside world, but an invitation to look within.
Or to put it in Becker's words: "My photos are not a 'this is how it was' but a 'this is how it feels'.
