For Kids & Families

When suddenly encountering Little Red Riding Hood in the old part of Alsfeld, the whole family is surprised - and perhaps spontaneously comes up with the idea of visiting the wolf at Knüll Wildlife Park. Or would they all rather go to the Sababurg Zoo? From there, it wouldn't be far to "fat Berta" in the primeval forest, to the all-year-round swimming pool in the "Sleeping Beauty Town" of Hofgeismar, to the Krukenburg in Bad Karlshafen, to the "Mühlenplatz" (open-air exhibition of miniature landscape of old homes and mills) in Wesertal or even the home of the famous documenta art exhibition in Kassel, also called the "Capital of the German Fairytale Route".

In short, the German Fairy Tale Route offers a wide range of experiences for families - from the Cinderella Games in Polle to "Gelnhusana Magica" in Gelnhausen, the Fairy Tale Park in Mackenrode, the summer toboggan run in Bodenwerder and the Hiking Fairy Tale Trail in Rauschenberg to the Dwarf Christmas in Hoya.
