The German Fairy Tale Route was founded shortly after the time when making a wish could still help. On 11 April 1975, representatives of around 40 towns and communities between the Main river and the North Sea launched the joint project.
A lot has changed since then. However, one thing has always been and will always remain the purpose and concern of the German Fairy Tale Route: inviting people from all over the world to follow in the footsteps of the Brothers Grimm from Hanau to Bremen and immerse themselves in the dazzling worlds of German fairy tales, sagas and legends.
