St. Peter's Cathedral Fritzlar

St. Peter's Cathedral is one of the most important and most beautiful Romanesque-Gothic churches in Hesse.

In the interior, the most diverse architectural styles of the centuries come together in a successful composition. The crypts with the high grave of St. Wigbert, the cathedral library, the cloister and the cathedral building with the cathedral museum and the cathedral treasure are particularly worth seeing.

Parts of the former cathedral library have been preserved for centuries in the cathedral library. Manuscripts from the 8th to the 16th century can be viewed there, as well as documents, incunabula and early printed books.
A visit to the Fritzlar Cathedral Museum is worthwhile, as it houses one of the most important Romanesque church treasures in Germany.
