A guided tour very close to Kassel‘s city center, yet surrounded by greenery. The Karlsaue is a sprawling, baroque park, created around 1700 and bearing the signature of the French landscape architect Le Nôtre.
The centerpiece of the landscape garden is the Orangery, once the greenhouse and summer residence of the Landgrave, today the Orangery houses the largest planetarium in Hesse.
Starting from the bowling green in front of the castle, this guided tour takes us through the expansive, fan‐shaped avenues, pools, and canals. Numerous statues by the sculptor Nahl line our path, underscoring the Mediterranean charm that pervades the area on warm summer evenings. A tour you shouldn‘t miss!
