From Hercules to Neptune's Basin

From the Giant's Head Basin down to Neptune's Basin, the cascades are interrupted by a total of three oval water basins. The enormous cascade system is lined on both sides by 535 and 539 steps respectively.

The cascades are 210 metres long and 12 metres wide. The large transverse terraces are bordered on both sides by high sloping steps. When you arrive before the water at Neptune's Basin, you can still make out the Roman god of the sea. Afterwards, he is hidden by the falling water.

The staging of Hercules over the cascades to the Neptune Basin is also referred to as  "baroque waterworks".
