Historic Carlsbahntunnel
The Deiseler Tunnel, also known as the Trendelburg Tunnel or Carlsbahntunnel, near Deisel in the northern Hessian district of Kassel, is a 202 m long, former Carlsbahn railway tunnel.
Built between 1846 and 1847, it is the oldest railway tunnel in Hesse. The tunnel and its caretaker's house are cultural monuments according to the Hessian Monument Protection Act.
Biking and hiking trails have been running through the tunnel since 2014.
