The Old Town Church in Hofgeismar

Former collegiate church of Our Lady, begun in the 12th century; one of the most important hall churches in Hesse. Romanesque sound arcades in the west tower; Romanesque door pull (lion's head); High Gothic portal, dated 1330 and various alterations. Protestant parish church in the old town since 1535. The so-called "Hofgeismar Altar" (c. 1310), probably part of a wing altar of the Franciscan monastery church, is definitely worth seeing.
