The "frame building", erected by Haus-Rucker-Co for documenta 6 in 1977, opens onto the Karlsaue state park.
The walk-in "frame construction" was created as a temporary installation for documenta 6 and was developed by the Austrian artist and architect group Haus-Rucker-Co. As an instrument for observing cultural landscape reality, the "urban tool" invites visitors to experimentally explore the urban space and their own perception. The frame construction defines image sections and viewing directions. In this way, relationships are established between the built and designed environment, to ideas, thoughts and memories.
