Schwalm-Eder county - Holiday in nature

With the well-wooded low mountain landscape between Kellerwald and Knüll as well as the attractive river valleys of the Eder, Fulda and Schwalm, the region offers optimal prerequisites for active and relaxing holiday stays in an intact natural setting.

Schwalm-Eder county for friends of fairytales
During their lifetime, the brothers Jacob und Wilhelm Grimm found a model for their “Little Red Riding Hood" costume in Schwalm tradition folk dress. Single women up to the age of 30 namely wore a red cap. There are numerous legends and tales in the towns of the Schwalm-Eder county.

Tennis, riding, skating, mountainbiking - the offering of active holiday possibilities is large.
A journey to the mediaeval half-timbered towns of the region is always a worthwhile visit.
