Almost 40 km Fulda cycle path via Bebra, Bad Hersfeld to Niederaula, flat, well developed and signposted, from Niederaula uphill to Olberolde, then super descent on smoothly paved railroad line of the Little Red Riding Hood Cycle Path to Neukirchen, conditionally suitable for families
Difficulty level: rather easy
Trail quality: ★★★☆

The Fulda cycle path follows the river on the left through beautiful countryside, past the Bebra railroad junction and the Breitenbach lakes to the festival town of Bad Hersfeld. In the "Wortreich" museum, a knowledge and experience exhibition on the subject of language and communication, there is also an exhibition area on the "Brothers Grimm". There is also an area dedicated to Konrad Duden and his "Dictionary of the German Language". Bad Hersfeld's old town is dominated by the historic town hall and the abbey ruins.
From Bad Hersfeld, follow the Fulda cycle path to Niederaula, where it branches off onto the Rotkäppchenland railroad cycle path. After the A 7 highway bridge, the route then climbs near Kirchheim. The route continues along side roads and farm tracks to Wahlshausen, where the actual railroad cycle path begins. From here, the ascent is only moderate until you reach the top of the pass at Oberolde. There is a beer garden here where you can take a break.
From Oberolde, the railroad cycle path then swings in large loops through the Knüll, whose scenic beauty can be admired again and again along the way. Neukirchen is a climatic health resort and Kneipp spa with an old town and a fairytale house, which houses a collection of diverse "Grimm's fairytale exhibits". At certain times, a storyteller enchants her audience with her tales.
