Historical market place Fritzlar

In the heart of Fritzlar's old town lies the historic market square with its beautiful half-timbered ensemble and the Rolandsbrunnen fountain. This is where the social life takes place.

Numerous cafés and restaurants invite you to linger and enjoy, and an almost traffic-free old town offers visitors a special shopping ambience with its very inviting shops and boutiques.

On Fritzlar's market square stands one of the oldest and most interesting late-medieval half-timbered houses in the town, the Gildehaus, also known as the "Kaufhäuschen", built between 1475 and 1480.
