The outside of the Frau Holle fountain by Prof. Sauter in the courtyard shows some scenes from the fairy tale "Frau Holle" by the Brothers Grimm.

In addition, perhaps the horn of the Dietemann from the castle tower can be heard on the hour or the Dietemann song.

The castle is the administrative seat of the Werra-Meißner district, and there is an exhibition open to the public in the knight's hall.
