The Märchenstraße cycle route continues along the Weser cycle path, where you can roll along comfortably on smooth asphalt. Polle is the place where Cinderella is at home. A yaw rope ferry takes interested cyclists quickly to the other side to the castle ruins, where the fairytale Cinderella is performed every third Sunday in summer. From the ruins, you also have a wonderful view of the Weser with the ferry.
The next stop is the Münchhausen town of Bodenwerder. Baron von Münchhausen lived here and told his fantastic tall tales to his friends. Rudolf Erich Raspe wrote them down and published them in England, where they quickly spread. The Göttingen poet Gottfried August Bürger translated them back into German and added more, so that they quickly became popular in Germany too. A museum and several monuments were erected in the town in honor of its famous son.
Further along the easy Weser cycle path , you have a beautiful view of the moated castle on the other side of the river at Hehlen.
A Dutch windmill greets cyclists along the way in Tündern. After a good hour, Hameln is in sight. This is where the famous Pied Piper once wreaked havoc. There are several historic buildings to visit in this pretty town. The Pied Piper House, the Dempter House and the Wedding House are particularly worth a visit.
