From the old town of Bodenwerder, cross the Weser bridge and continue along the Weser cycle path.
In Emmerthal, the cycle path then turns left into the tranquil Emmer river valley. After a few kilometers, you will see the magnificent Hämelschenburg Castle, one of the most important buildings of the Weser Renaissance.
The rest of the route follows the well-signposted "BahnRadRoute Hellweg-Weser " through the scenic floodplains of the Emmer. Passing Bad Pyrmont, you soon reach the stage town of Lügde. A pretty town, characterized by half-timbered houses, with remains of the former town fortifications. In the middle of it all, the goat fountain is a reminder of the goat farming that was widespread here in the Middle Ages.
