Historical Tidbit

With the “staple right” granted in 1247, the town obtained an important trading privilege: all passing merchants were obliged to unload their goods in Hann. Münden and offer them for purchase to the Münden citizens for three days. Many buildings such as the splendid Weser Renaissance city hall, the St. Blasius church, and more than 700 richly ornamented half-timbered houses still reflect the wealth of this long-gone time today.
