Due to the ongoing drought and high temperatures, blue-green algae in the BUGA Lake have proliferated to such an extent that the Kassel Regional Health Department issued a swimming ban on Monday, August 3, 2026. Read the press release

Mit dem öffentlichen Nahverkehr ist das stadtnahe Erholungsgebiet gut zu erreichen:
Bus 16 bis zur Gärtnerplatzbrücke
Bus 25 bis zu den Haltestellen Fuldaseen oder Messehalle
Anschließend ist man nach 5 bis 10 Minuten Fußweg an den Badestränden.
Rund um den See und besonders entlang der Straße Fuldaaue befinden sich ausreichend Parkplätze. Organization
