Parks / Gardens
The glowing yellow façade of the Orangerie is visible from afar. The palace forms the northern beginning of the Karlsaue and is the centrepiece of the baroque garden complex.
A popular gathering place for Kassel residents and visitors

The Orangery’s bright yellow facade is visible even from a distance. The palace marks the northern end of the Karlsaue and is the centerpiece of the Baroque garden complex. A spacious terrace separates the garden palace from the Karlswiese lawn in front of it. During the summer, the terrace is used by restaurants and serves as a popular meeting place and attractive photo spot near the Fulda River.

The Orangerie houses Hesse’s largest planetarium. During the summer months, the Marble Bath can be visited from the two corner pavilions. The palace serves as the starting point for the Planetary Trail and many walking paths through the Karlsaue State Park all the way to the flower island of Siebenbergen.
