- Start: Mountain inn Eisenberg with observation tower (630 meters).
- Destination: Mountain inn Eisenberg
Surrounded by the highest mountain of the Knüll Mountains, reaching 636 meters, the Eisenberg offers breathtaking panoramas in all directions. On this sunny circular trail, one can enjoy stunning views of the Vogelsberg, Thuringian Forest, Meißner, and Rhön mountain ranges, weather permitting. The Borgmannturm tower provides an especially panoramic vista.
Ascending to the plateau of Eisenberg, the hiking trail meanders through meadows, while on the steeper side, it traverses along the edge of the forest, passing through beautiful and diverse woodlands. The Rhönblick hut invites hikers to take a break and enjoy the view.
The Christinenquelle spring, first tapped in 1920, provides a fabulous opportunity for refreshing oneself along the way.
In spring, thousands of wood anemones greet hikers around the mountain inn, while in early summer, one might discover an orchid blooming in the meadows.
The "Eisenberg Panoramaweg" fairy tale trail is featured as Premium Spazierweg 17 Eisenberg Panoramaweg in the overview (Naturpark Knüll brochure).
